How It Works

Three steps to launching a Shogun mobile app without a rebuild

We handle the entire process. You focus on your business.

01

Preview your app

We build a working iOS and Android app preview from your live store in about a week. You see exactly how the app looks and feels before any commitment.

02

We build and launch it

Our team builds the iOS and Android apps, handles App Store and Google Play submission under your developer accounts, and ships the launch playbook with you.

03

Grow the channel

Push automations through Klaviyo or OneSignal, native analytics, and ongoing performance reviews. The app picks up your site updates automatically; our team runs the iOS and Android side.

Most app builders rebuild your store. We build the app on the one you already run.

Your existing store powers the app, with no second build to maintain.

What you get from template app builders

Your Shogun pages do not make it into the app

Template app builders rebuild the storefront through their templates and the Shopify or BigCommerce product API. Shogun-built landing pages, custom PDP layouts, sections, and the rest of your store flows, do not carry over. The advanced merchandising your team uses Shogun for stops at the app boundary.

A second CMS sits on top of the one you already have

You already manage the site in Shogun and the catalog in Shopify or BigCommerce. The app builder adds a third surface with its own templates, blocks, and merchandising rules. Every drop, promo, and homepage change ships through three systems instead of one.

Revenue share on every app sale

Off-the-shelf app builders take 1.75-2.5% of every in-app sale on top of the monthly fee. The monthly fee is the bait. The revenue share is the bill, and it grows with the channel.

A/B tests and personalization do not run in the app

Shogun A/B tests, audience-based personalization, and experiment logic are tied to the Shogun-rendered storefront. Template app builders render their own version, so the experiments your team relies on to optimize the site do not run in the app version of the same page.

What you get from MobiLoud

A custom mobile app on the live store you already run

Your live Shogun-powered store runs inside the app. Shogun pages, PDP layouts, sections, and the rest of your store flows, stay intact. One store to manage, not two.

Every Shogun page ships to the app the moment it goes live

Update a landing page in Shogun Page Builder or a Shogun Frontend deployment and the change shows up in the app the same day. Your web team keeps shipping at full speed, with no QA gate or second build sitting between them and a deploy.

Predictable monthly pricing, no revenue share on in-app sales

MobiLoud is a predictable monthly subscription with no revenue share or per-transaction fees on in-app sales. On $10M/year in-app revenue, 1.75-2.5% revenue share on off-the-shelf app builders is $175K-$250K/year on top of the monthly fee.

Shogun pages, A/B tests, and personalization carry into the app

Loyalty companions, in-store mode, app-exclusive products, and the rest of your store flows. Anything you can build on your Shopify or BigCommerce stack works in the app, with no template ceiling.

Three things working together: your Shogun store, our platform, our team

Your live Shogun-powered store powers the catalog, checkout, and every tool you have already wired in. Our platform bridges web to native and brings the native features built in. Our team builds, ships, and operates the iOS and Android app.

What Shogun-powered brands actually need to know

An app channel for Shogun brands, without the storefront rebuild

The question is not whether a mobile app makes sense for your Shogun store. It is how to launch one without losing the merchandising and personalization layer you have spent years building, or paying a tax on every order once the app starts working.

Push reaches customers where email and search cannot

Email open rates have fallen for years, and the promotions folder eats a large share of what does get delivered. SMS works but carries TCPA-style compliance overhead, costs that scale with volume, and a customer-experience cap before opt-outs climb. The retention-channel ceiling for ecommerce brands sits well below where it used to.

Mobile apps change the shape of the channel. An icon on the home screen, persistent login, push notifications direct to the lock screen, and the install itself as a signal of your best customers. Push reaches the customer where email and SMS cannot, and app users are already opted in by definition.

Across the ecommerce category, app users convert at 3-7x mobile web rates, spend 10-50% more per order, and deliver roughly 3x the lifetime value. MobiLoud-built apps for brands on Shopify and BigCommerce show the same pattern. Sleefs delivers 3x revenue per user and 30% higher AOV on the app vs mobile web. XCVI drives 4.8x revenue per app user against the same brand's mobile web. Kiokii drives 35% of total online revenue through the app. Country Life Natural Foods generates 15x revenue per app user vs the same brand's mobile web.

The monthly fee is the bait. The revenue share is the bill.

The template app builders in the Shopify App Store all take the same approach: they rebuild your storefront inside their own platform. Their templates, their app builder UI, their payment routing. The app is built from the product data the platform API returns, not from the store your customers actually see on the web.

For a Shogun-powered brand, that gap is especially sharp. The Shogun Page Builder pages, custom PDP layouts, sections, and collection variations your team built in Shogun are exactly the kind of advanced merchandising the template app builders cannot reproduce. The A/B tests and audience-based personalization Shogun runs on the web do not run inside their app version. The merchandising work that justifies Shogun on the web stops at the app boundary, and the app surface becomes a stripped-down version of the storefront your customers know.

Pricing is the other side of the same pattern. Most template builders take 1.75-2.5% of in-app revenue on top of their monthly fee. On $10M/year in-app revenue, 1.75-2.5% is $175K-$250K/year on top of the monthly fee, the line that grows fastest as the channel works. As the app starts working, the bill on the success climbs with it.

Custom native (Swift, Kotlin, React Native) gets around the rebuild, but trades it for the full cost of a mobile team. In-house teams run $500K-$1M+/year fully loaded; agencies $250-800K+/year. It is the right call for brands at serious scale with a dedicated mobile team. For most Shogun-powered brands, it is not.

Your stack stays the source; our team owns the iOS and Android side

MobiLoud is the combination of a native platform and a service team. The platform bridges your live Shogun store to an iOS and Android app and brings the features a native app needs built in: push notifications via OneSignal or Klaviyo, deep links into any product or Shogun page, persistent login, native navigation, smart banners, in-app payments, and analytics tied into GA4, Firebase, or Triple Whale. The native integrations a custom-native build would wire up once-per-app are built into the platform once.

Together, your existing Shogun-powered store plus our platform is a custom mobile app experience, built on the storefront you already operate, not a second one you rebuild from scratch. Every Shogun Page Builder layout, every Shogun Frontend deployment, every custom PDP, every A/B test, every personalization rule, every Shopify or BigCommerce app, and every checkout customization carries over automatically. The app updates the moment your web store updates.

Your Shogun team builds for the app the way they build for the site: Shogun Page Builder, custom sections, A/B tests, theme code, all on the release cycle they already run. Our team guides on the app-specific patterns and applies direct customizations to the app experience when something needs to look or behave differently in the app. The native SDK integrations that come up infrequently (custom payments, native analytics, a POS bridge) we handle from our side, and we run the iOS and Android operational track: builds and submissions under your developer accounts, OS update cycles, certificate renewals, Shopify Checkout Extensibility updates, and store policy.

"No one believed we'd have an app in under a month. Within two weeks it was done. Having a quick, international app that doesn't crash, and integrates with our system, solved a major challenge."

Ahmed Yousef, Director of Ecommerce, Pharmazone. Their Shopify pharmacy app now drives 63% of total online revenue, with abandoned cart push converting at 22%.

After launch is where the channel actually compounds

We are focused on the results we see Shopify and BigCommerce customers achieve regularly. The launch playbook is where we start: install prompts on your site, smart banners on mobile web, QR codes, email announcements to your existing customer base, in-store signage if you have retail, and an app-user incentive to drive the first wave of installs. The push strategy gets built into the Klaviyo or OneSignal integration we set up: abandoned cart recovery, back-in-stock alerts, order and shipping updates, drops, and promotional campaigns triggered the same way email is, running directly in your existing Klaviyo or OneSignal account.

On Enterprise, the work does not stop at setup. Your customer success manager runs monthly performance checkpoints against peer Shopify Plus and BigCommerce brands, builds analytics dashboards on the app channel, reviews what is working in the category, and proposes what to try next. The push strategy gets refined as the channel grows.

MobiLoud has served 2,000+ brands. The results above are not exceptional. They are what the channel delivers when it is launched and run properly. The fastest way to know whether it works for your Shogun store is the free preview: we build a working version of your Shogun mobile app from your live store in roughly 5 to 7 working days, so you can see exactly how it looks and feels before you commit to anything.

Yes. The app runs your live store, so every Shogun Page Builder page, every custom PDP layout, every section, every collection variation, every A/B test, and every personalization rule renders inside the app the same way it renders on the web. Shogun Frontend deployments work the same way. Whatever your Shogun setup ships to the web ships to the app automatically, with no second build to maintain.

No. MobiLoud Business is $1,499/month on Business with a $5,000 setup fee, up to 10,000 monthly active users on fair use. There is no revenue share or per-transaction fee on in-app sales. Most Shopify App Store builders take 1.75-2.5% of in-app sales on top of their monthly fee. On $10M/year in-app revenue, 1.75-2.5% is $175K-$250K/year on top of the monthly fee.

Most Shogun-powered stores go live on iOS and Google Play in 6 to 8 weeks from kickoff. The timeline depends on how many native tweaks you want, how quickly you can approve designs, and the Apple and Google review windows. MobiLoud handles the build, QA, submission under your developer accounts, and the back-and-forth with reviewers.

Yes. The app reads from your live store the same way browsers do, so it works the same on Shogun Page Builder (Shopify or BigCommerce) and on a Shogun Frontend headless deployment. Whatever your team has built in Shogun (custom PDPs, landing pages, A/B tests, audience-based personalization, multi-region storefronts) carries through to the app without a separate rebuild on our side.

Push notifications are delivered through our Klaviyo and OneSignal integrations. The Klaviyo integration sets up automated flows directly in your Klaviyo account: abandoned cart recovery, order and shipping updates, welcome sequences, back-in-stock alerts, and promotional campaigns triggered the same way email is. OneSignal works the same way if you already use it. Pharmazone's abandoned cart push converts at 22%.

Yes. On Shopify, the app can run app-exclusive products using metafields and app-exclusive discount codes (any code with APP in the name is restricted to the mobile app). BigCommerce supports similar logic via custom fields. You can hide or change elements that only show inside the app using custom CSS or MobiLoud's JavaScript library, which detects whether a page is loading in the app or the browser. Shogun pages can be marked as app-only or web-only the same way.

We handle it. When Shopify ships Checkout Extensibility changes, when BigCommerce updates its storefront API, when Apple rolls out a new iOS version, when Google updates its target SDK deadline, the app needs corresponding updates to keep running and stay approved. That work is part of the service on every plan. Your team does not need to track Apple and Google policy changes, renew certificates, or ship rebuilds every quarter.

You own everything around the app. Apps are submitted under your Apple Developer and Google Play Console accounts, so the listings, reviews, install base, analytics, and customer relationships are all yours. MobiLoud retains IP in the platform and code that builds the app. The app itself, the store presence, and the customers are yours. If you ever move to a different solution, the listings, reviews, and users stay with you.

We work with enterprise security and legal teams routinely. Standard documents are available on request: a Data Processing Agreement (DPA), General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliance, insurance certificates. Service Level Agreement (SLA) and uptime monitoring are available as an Enterprise add-on. SOC 2 Type II is on our roadmap. Your customer data lives on your existing Shopify or BigCommerce store, not on MobiLoud servers. Your security and legal counterparts get the full documentation on the call.
